The winner of Eastern State’s gingerbread penitentiary competition, by a close margin, is Chad Durkin of Desserts International!
Durkin created a 32 in x 32 in gingerbread model of the penitentiary complex for the historic site’s Winter Adventure Tour kickoff event last Wednesday, December 1st.
Congrats to runner-up Diana Anello of Bredenbeck’s Bakery, who created a whimsical version of the Pen showcasing cell interiors.

Winter Adventure Tours run weekdays at 10 am, 12 pm, 2 pm, 3 pm, and 4 pm; and every half hour from 10 am to 5 pm on weekends. Reservations are strongly recommended. Click here for more information.
