Fairmount truly went French this past weekend. From bourgeois to peasants, croissants to Kronenbourg 1664 beer, cabaret to costume contests, things were really heating up outside this Bastille! Tres magnifique!
I was glad to get a chance to cool off in the dunk tank. We raised over $600 which will help restore the roof over Death Row. We need to rehabilitate this cellblock so that visitors to Eastern State can further explore the powerful evidence of changing prison policies in America. Over 1,700 people visited ESP this weekend to tour the grounds and to catch Tastykakes pelted from the roof by Marie Antoinette’s army of soldiers and Storm Troopers. It wouldn’t have been a party without the cast of the Bearded Ladies Cabaret! Édith Piaf rallied the crowd to rise up against the Queen, but somehow she escaped to live another year.
There's always 2012...
